3 Days Safari to Mikumi National Park With Maasai Village Visit
Overview
Mikumi is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park. It’s also the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. With almost guaranteed wildlife sightings, it makes an ideal safari destination for those without much time. Since the completion of the paved road connecting the park gate with Dar es Salaam, Mikumi National Park has been slated to become a hotspot for tourism in Tanzania. Located between the Uluguru Mountains and the Lumango range, Mikumi is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and only a few hours’ drive from Tanzania’s largest city. The park has a wide variety of wildlife that can be easy spotted and also well acclimatized to game viewing. Its proximity to Dar es Salaam and the amount of wildlife that live within its borders makes Mikumi National Park a popular option for weekend visitors from the city, or for business visitors who don’t have to spend a long time on an extended safari itinerary.
Detailed Itinerary of the Trip

1Day 1: Zanzibar - Dar es Salaam - Mikumi National Park - Masai village
Accommodation: Camp Bastian Mikumi or similar accommodation
Early morning pick you up at the place of stay in Zanzibar and transfer to Stone Town ferry station for the first boat to Dar es Salaam which depart at 7:00 am. On arrival at Dar es Salaam Port, your driver-guide will be ready to pick you up and depart to Mikumi National Park with a hot lunch stop at Msolwa Restaurant. On arrival, you will check-in at the Camp. The drive to the Maasai Village for a culture and tradition tour. There you will see how the cattle come from grazing and Maasai women they milking, dancing and get the history of this one old tribe in Africa. Enjoy your moment until sunset when you will drive back to the Camp Bastian Mikumi for a shower and dinner.

2Day 2: Full day Game drive in Mikumi National Park
Accommodation: Camp Bastian Mikumi or similar accommodation
Very early in the morning around 6:15am get a breakfast at the hotel then start a drive to the park for a full day game drive, break up for lunch in the restaurant inside the park then continue the game drive till late evening after sunset then drive back to your Camp for dinner and overnight.

3Day 3: Mikumi National Park - Dar es Salaam - Zanzibar
Very early in the morning pick up for a transfer back to daresalam for a boat to Zanzibar, arrive Zanzibar Port and driver will be ready to pick you back to the hotel of your choice in Zanzibar.
